Chasmanthe Floribunda
September 16th, 2021

Chasmanthe is also known as 'South African flag'. The genus name is derived from the Greek words chasme, meaning 'gaping', and anthos, meaning 'flower'.

At the moment we have two different varieties from Dutch grower J.M. van Berkel available in our assortment, these are Chasmanthe Floribunda 'Saturn' and Chasmanthe Floribunda 'Saturn Berry'. The names tell the difference between the two varieties. 'Chasmanthe Floribunda 'Saturn' has a beautiful orange, red and yellow colour and Chasmanthe Floribunda 'Saturn Bes' has green 'berries'. Chasmanthe Floribunda is available in a length of 85 and 90 centimeters.

Fun fact: Chasmanthe first becomes a flower, after which it 'shrinks', and forms into a 'berry'.
