Huckleberry
January 20th, 2022

'Huck Red' and 'Sweet Huck' are available again in our assortment! 'Huck Red'  is harvested from Huckleberry (Vaccinium parvifolium) shrubs in the North-West of the United States. There, the big Huck shrubs grow in the shadow, often close to Salal in rotting tree logs.

During fall, Huck retains its small oval leaves, which change from orange to red after frost. We offer you the red branches with the red Huck leaf as 'Huck Red'.

Unlike 'Huck Red', 'Sweet Huck' is not part of the Heather-family, but its part of the pea-family ( Fabacaea ). The 'Sweet Huck' that we offer, are the green branches that remain when the leaves have fallen off the bush. The branches are the pinnacle of spring and therefore very popular in brightly coloured spring arrangements.
