Cork from Southern Europe
June 25th, 2020

The 5 kilo 'Cork Packs' from Southern Europe are available in our assortment again.

Insects are kept away from the cork in a natural and sustainable manner. The cork is therefore free of insects and have an extra nice quality.

Cork comes from the bark of Cork Oak. Every 9 years, the cork bark can be harvested from one tree. The grower can harvest cork every year, because there are trees of different ages in the forest. After harvesting, a red smooth trunk remains.

The production of cork is sustainable, because the trees do not have to be cut down. In fact, these trees absorb more carbon dioxide than trees whose bark has not been removed.
