The Black Tulip Group, which includes grower Blue Sky from Kenya, is working on making its farms more sustainable.

As you may know, Blue Sky is our supplier of Gyps, Limonium, Lepidium, Delphinium and Helianthus, among others. They are already KFC Silver certified and Sedex registered. They have now expanded this form of sustainability with solar panels on the farm. With this they generate electricity and the farm is partly ‘self-sufficient’. They currently generate 80% to 90% of their electricity. A percentage is used during the day, but they still need the electricity network during the evening/night.

We are proud of this development and are pleased to hear that sustainability is also a top priority for our suppliers and growers.
