5x Summer at Coloríginz
July 6th, 2020

It is summer at Coloríginz and we have a gorgeous summer range! We have listed some of our best products and linked them to the five most popular trends of the moment.

Dried flowers and grasses

As you are probably aware, dried grasses, foliage and flowers are back from the 60’s and are currently a must-have for every interior fan. This trend continues to boom this summer.

Our favourites are Pampas Grass (Cortaderia) with its airy and soft contours. Cortaderia is showing up in homes all over the world in both its natural crème colour as well as bleached variants (such as red, pink, yellow).

Various other ornamental grasses in our range include Setaria Italica, Chasmanthium, Pancium and Polypogon. Each variety has its own special effect: Setria Italica, is loved for its burgundy or green fluffy ‘tails’. Beautiful in an airy dry or fresh bouquet; The cascading long leaves and playful blades of Pancium grass, make this variety into an attractive and original filler. With Pancium you easily get that playful effect you have been looking for.

As for dried flowers, we are devoted to Banksia. This family member of Protea and Leucadendron, has some striking looks and will take your breath away in a dried bouquet. Or let her steal the show and put her solo in a minimalist vase. Banksia is available in her natural orange and white colour, or in a variety of bright summer colours.

Tropical foliage

Many people are currently choosing to spend the summer at home instead of traveling to tropical destinations.  So, we are bringing the tropical beauty to the people! There is no shortage of tropical foliage, such as Cat palm, Palmetto, Phoenix, Raphis and Cycas in our selection. The best thing about tropical foliage is that some varieties feel completely at home in the warm summer weather and will remain beautiful in the vase for a long, long time.  Under gently swaying palm(etto) leaves, you can easily imagine yourself lying on a beach, sipping on a nice cool drink on a small island far, far away.

Psycadelic

Flowers brighten up your life! We certainty have taken note of this. Leucospermum (nutan) are usually available in bright yellow, orange and red hues, but now we also have them in various dyed colour variations such as neon blue, green, purple, yellow and pink.

Our roses are also available in the brightest colors you have ever seen, the Rosa Free Spirit with its orange / red color or Cherry Brandy or Pink Floyd are good examples of this. But also our colourful preserved roses selection should be included on this list! View our summer collection here.

Minimalism

We were just writing about the 'Psychedelic' trend, but we also love the other side of the spectrum: Minimalism. A few of the same flowers or foliage varieties in a beautiful vase can make a devastatingly beautiful statement. Think about, Hydrangea's, Peony's, Eucalyptus, Agapanthus, Gyps or Hypericum or a few statement Protea's... Plenty to choose from!

Monochrome

Combine flowers of the same colour, or from a closely related colour family to create a well-balanced arrangement. By combining flowers and foliage of various textures and shapes together you’ll create an interesting yet coherent arrangement.
